Iwona Chrzanowska - Opening Plenary Speaker "Problems of Pedagogy and Special Education"
Professor Chrzanowska is the Head of the Department for the Special Educational Needs in the Department of Educational Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University and the Chairman of the Committee of Special Education at the Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Susan A. Conners - Second Plenary Speaker "Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders in the Classroom"
This keynote will discuss the criteria for diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome and will include an in-depth description of all the symptomology. It will also deal with the most common neurological disorders associated with TS, in particular, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Dysgraphia and more, and the impact of all of these disorders on social emotional well-being, classroom performance and behavior. It will include some specific classroom strategies and techniques for working with these children in a variety of settings.
Kevin Spencer - Closing Plenary Speaker "It's Not an Illusion: Engaging Students with Special Needs"
This presentation will introduce attendees to a groundbreaking, arts-integrated intervention by sharing research and anecdotal evidence demonstrating the magnificent relationship between the arts and special education.
