Perfil de Ana Margarida Pisco Almeida
Ana Margarida Almeida is graduated in New Communication Technologies (1998, University of Aveiro) and holds a PhD in Communication Sciences and Technologies (2006, University of Aveiro, Portugal). Her PhD thesis title was “Communication technologies in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities - the users specificities and the adaptation and flexibility processes on the access, use and participation of distributed communication and learning environments: the children with Trisomy 21 case”. Since then, she has been developing research activities highly related to this area and her current main research interests are: ‘health promotion and health education through ICT’, ‘communication and health’, ‘digital inclusion’, ‘agile projects development’, ‘media for all’ and ‘communication technologies to support citizens with special needs’.
She was a member of the executive board of the research unity CETAC.MEDIA (from 2008 to 2012), vice-head of the New Communication Technologies Degree (from 2006 to 2010) and head of the New Communication Technologies Degree, from 2010 to 2013.
Currently, as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication and Art, University of Aveiro, Portugal, she lectures in Communication Sciences and Technologies undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses: ‘New Communication Technologies bachelor degree’, ‘Multimedia Communications Master’, ‘Multimedia and Education PhD Program’ and ‘Information and Communication in Digital Platforms PhD Program”. Under this scope, she has developed several supervising activities of MSc and PhD students, highly related to her main research interests and she has been involved in different research projects and scientific initiatives. She has several papers and book chapters published and she is also a reviewer in several national and international journals.
