Document type: incluD-ed material
incluD-ed’s statement on promoting the development of inclusive education systems within the European Union underlines that high levels of employment, productivity and social cohesion –priorities of the Europe 2020 growth strategy – cannot be achieved without establishing inclusive education systems.
incluD-ed bases this statement on:
- the European Charter of Fundamental Rights as regards Articles 21 and 26 on persons with disabilities; and
- the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, signed by the European Union and its Member States, particularly Article No. 24 on Education.
The statement was made with a view to the EU Parliament’s elections in May 2014.
