2015 EUSE Conference “Improving Diversity through Supported Employment”

“The Portuguese Association on Supported Employment (APEA – Associação Portuguesa de Emprego Apoiado) is honored to host the 2015 European Union of Supported Employment Conference, taking place in Portugal, Estoril Congress Center, on May 27th to 29th, 2015.
The theme for the Conference is “Improving Diversity through Supported Employment” and should be an opportunity to share Supported Employment significant practices in Europe and other countries, increasing diversity for a more inclusive and participated world toward social cohesion.
The conference will showcase the many significant practice initiatives and developments from all across the world which seeks to promote equality, citizenship, inclusion, self-advocacy and human rights of individuals from disadvantaged situations, including people with a disability, ex-offenders, youth at risk, former drug addicts, long-term unemployed, among others.
We shall also address the long and deep work with employers and public and private entities in promoting employability, self-employment and local development.
APEA is delighted to work in partnership with the Board of EUSE in planning and delivering the 2015 Conference.
APEA and its partners have played an important role in the implementation of supported employment in Portugal, in the development of strategies, methodologies and legislative framework.
EUSE and supported employment national organizations in Europe, in collaboration with experts, universities and interested people from all over the world have searched for an answer and contribute to more inclusive and participatory communities.
We look forward to have job candidates, self-advocates, employers, employees, technicians, experts, NGOs members, politicians, families, participating in this Conference.
We believe that this will be an important European Conference which will meet the needs of delegates from Europe and across the world in sharing experiences, results and proposals around supported employment.”
