AHEAD 2016 “Toward Equity & Access: Illuminating the Pathways AHEAD”
Lun, 11/07/2016 - Sáb, 16/07/2016
The AHEAD 2016 conference “Toward Equity & Access: Illuminating the Pathways AHEAD”, organized by AHEAD in cooperating with the pepnet 2 Postsecondary Training Institute will take place from 11 – 16 July, 2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
Like the city of Indianapolis itself as at the Crossroads of America, AHEAD serves as a hub connecting disability professionals, advocates, researchers, faculty, and students. AHEAD members set out on their own various courses, choosing a target, at times seeking help with directions, and maybe finding new or interesting routes and destinations through the assistance and guidance of those they meet along the way.
To illuminate. To shine, to cast or shed light upon. In 2016, AHEAD attendees are invited to consider the ways in which they can help illuminate fellow conference-goers with their insights and experiences, collaborations and undertakings, theoretical knowledge and research findings to further our collective work in meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities and our various constituents.
The annual conference is the Association’s hallmark event, drawing participants from around the world, and representing many fields including education, government, law, research, and technology. Attendees converge for an exciting mix of learning, policy development and face-to-face networking.
Proposals that support “Toward Equity and Access: Illuminating the Pathways AHEAD” for students who are deaf or hard of hearing related to providing access to educational programs and related activities; career development, including emerging areas such as STEM programs; technology use; personnel development strategies; and research are being sought for the 2016 pepnet 2 Postsecondary Training Institute, held in conjunction with the AHEAD 2016 Conference.
