Includ-ed, red europea de educación inclusiva

The 2015 European Teacher Educational Network conference will be hosted by UCC University College in Copenhagen, Denmark. The conference’s with its diverse educational and social events will take place from 16 April to 18 April 2015.

The 2015 conference theme is ‘Experiential Learning’, which will be presented by keynote speaker Helle Winther Ph.D. Helle Winther is Associate Professor and Ph.D. in Movement Psychology at the University of Copenhagen specialized in research and teaching in embodied movement, dance, movement psychology, leadership, the language of the body and personal development through dance.

The conference is aimed at international academics and education professionals within higher education.

There will also be an opportunity to participate in one of the twelve Thematic Interest Groups (TIGs) during the conference:

Arts Education, Democracy, Culture and Religion, Educational Technology, Internationalisation, Mathematics Education, Movement Activities, Health and Outdoor Learning, Myths and Fairytales, Reflective Practice, Science Education, Teaching and Learning Technology, Urban Education, Special Needs

The Thematic Interest Group on Special Needs is led by Danny Wyffels, Katholieke Hogeschool VIVES   (Belgium) ()

Topic: “How do we prepare our student teachers to deal with SEN in regular classrooms?”

Aims and vision of the TIG:

• - To discuss and compare different practices and experiences of dealing with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Inclusion and Diversity in different countries
• - To share and promote the teaching of SEN in Teacher Training
• - To publish results of research, articles and reports of activities
• - To share examples of good practice in connection with students with special needs and their families
•  

Format of the sessions:

• - Short presentations (30 minutes and at least 10 min discussion) and workshops with active participation will outline the programme of the TIG seminars. Presentations on the special topic will be planned on Friday and presentations on all topics in the field of SEN will be planned on Saturday morning. Besides the presentations, a school visit will be planned on Friday morning.
