Online discussion on inclusive education by UNESCO and incluD-ed

UNESCO Education Department and the European Network for Inclusive Education and Disability (incluD-ed) led by Fundación ONCE and co-funded by the European Social Fund, are honored to invite you to the upcoming online discussion “Inclusive Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the Context of Lifelong Learning: Empowering People with Disabilities with Skills for Work and Life”. The discussion will take place during three consecutive weeks - starting on 29 October until 18 November 2015 - within the WSIS Knowledge Community “Building Inclusive Societies for Persons with Disabilities”.
The aim of the online discussion is to analyze TVET policies, systems, programmes and practices from the perspective of inclusive education and social equity, with a central focus on people with disabilities, and to consider what can be done to ensure that TVET fulfils its potential contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

We invite you to express your view on the following themes:
Þ Theme 1: Advancing inclusive and equitable access to TVET (Week 1)
Þ Theme 2: Improving quality and relevance in TVET to support transitions (Week 2)
Þ Theme 3: Transforming TVET for inclusive and sustainable societies (Week 3).
Contributions are encouraged from all regions of the world so that evidence and experience can inform recommendations for the future. Start sharing your knowledge and experiences on this subject!
The e-discussion on “Inclusive TVET in the context of Lifelong Learning”, open until 18 November 2015, will be moderated by Edgar Pereira, expert of the European Network on Inclusive Education and Disability (incluD-ed), TVET Coordinator the Cooperative for Education and Rehabilitation of the Citizens of Cascais, Portugal (CERCICA) and Consultant for Lifelong Guidance and Special Needs Education at the Portuguese Ministry of Education and Science.
The discussion is aimed at the wide variety of stakeholders involved in this field, going from policy makers, to experts, professionals and organizations working in the field from Europe and worldwide. The result of the discussion, after its three week duration will be a document containing recommendations for different stakeholders groups based on the contributions to the discussion.
