Online Resource Centre for Applied Disability Research

FIRAH, the International Foundation for Applied Research on Disability, co-founded by the incluD-ed network partner APF, announces the opening of its Resource Centre. This Resource Centre acts as an Interactive platform for sharing and exchanging knowledge from applied disability research and will also organize meetings and seminars.
The resource centre’s purpose is to strengthen links between researchers and field workers - persons with disabilities, their families and disabled people organisations, service providers and other organisations working with persons with disabilities, architects, teachers, companies industries etc. - in order to improve social participation and quality of life of people with disabilities, using the knowledge obtained from applied research.
The resource centre aims to:
> Facilitate the establishment of collaborative applied research projects on disability which bring together researchers and people in the field by offering methodologies, directories, support organisations…
> Bring awareness to and share new concepts and approaches with project starters and the public (information and training area as well as various Disability awareness-raising tools for multiple audiences, including children)
> Help to promote the results of applied research and the sharing of knowledge to facilitate their use on the field (the use of relative materials).
The resource centre supports applied research promoting a personalized support of quality (including assistive technologies) and fostering an inclusive environment complying with the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It covers all topics, all disabilities and all geographic regions.
