A qualification training course is open NOW!
Rytmus is very happy to open a qualification training course for learning support assistants this year. We consider professional assistant support to be a very important aspect in education of children with disability, which secures them a bigger chance of success at a mainstream school among other children. However, in the Czech Republic such support is not taken for granted. Many learning support assistants lack sufficient preparation as well as continuous supervision. This contributes to the critical views of inclusive education in general. By offering learning support assistants better education and preparation we can now impact this situation.
The first training course will be held in Prague in May and June 2012 and will be divided into 3 blocks. The instruction cosists of altogether 80 hours of seminars and 40 hours of practice at schools. The course will be concluded by final exam. The participants will learn about different types of disabilities and their specifics. They will also get knowledge about the basic principles of communication with and teaching of children with disabilities. Emphasis will be put on the social aspect of inclusion as well – the participants will be taught to seek balance between attending effectively to the child‘s needs while, at the same time, not being an obstacle in the development of peer relationship. Last but not least, attention will be paid to the assistant's psychological self care.
