Perfil de Karel Van Isacker
Karel Van Isacker has been working in the field of accessibility and inclusion related to ICT in the past 15 years. Managing FP5, FP6 and FP7 projects, he has also been involved in (accessible) e-learning activities (SLIM-VRT, EURIDICE, EU4LL, MOTRASUP, etc.).
Since 2005, Karel has been acting mainly as project manager for a large number of projects dealing with people with disabilities such as ASK-IT (mobility for people with disabilities through mobile enabled route guidance, points of interests, etc.) and ÆGIS (accessible mobile interfaces for people with disabilities). Focus was in many of them on ensuring that the end-users needs are taken on board. He is also providing consultancy on disability aspects such as employability, and is an expert in accessibility training (accessible documents, websites, AT tools, etc.). He is currently coordinator of 3 LLL projects (ViPi, ATLEC, SGSCC). He has also been ICT trainer to people with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and this in cooperation with local end-user organisations in Flanders, Belgium.
