Summary
The National Institute for Intellectual Disability (NIID) is located at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland’s premiere university. Its mission is promoting inclusion through education, research and advocacy.
Target
NIID engages with a wide range of stakeholders including people with intellectual disabilities, family members, advocates, those who provide services to people with disabilities, academic institutions, researchers and other interested parties.
Activities
The NID delivers two educational courses: the Certificate in Contemporary Living (a two year course for students with intellectual disabilities) and the MSc in Disability Studies. NIID also welcomes PhD proposals from interested candidates.
NIID engages awide range of research and advocacy work, and has a particular knowledge regarding inclusive research.
