The European Network of Inclusive Education & Disability, participated on 12 and 13 November at the conference “Vocational Education and Training: Policy and Practice in the field of Special Education”, held in Cyprus under the Cypriot EU Presidency.
The aim of the conference, organised by the European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education, was to present among experts, national coordinators and special guests the results of a three-year project focused on identifying successful factors and patterns of VET programmes in Europe.
The conference also aimed at presenting analysis on current trends in the labour market towards higher qualification needs and the market for low qualified people, and examples of good practice in the field of Vocational Education and Training for students with special educational needs.
The incluD-ed network was invited as a special guest, participating at the validation of the results of the Agency’s project. Additionally, the network specifically benefited from the interest of European experts in the field and it positioned itself as a strong exchange platform among the Good Practice National Coordinators and the Agency’s Representative Board members.
One of the outputs of the meeting was the decision to change the Agency's name. From 1 January 2014 the name will be European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education.
We are very pleased with this change, in line with the central axis of our incluD-ed Network, since it focuses on the primary framework in which we believe the education should take place.
