incluD-ed will participate in the Inclusion & Diversity Strategy launch

incluD-ed has been invited to participate at the Inclusion & Diversity Strategy launch organized by SALTO Inclusion on the 7 May 2015 in Brussels. The launch event will not only kick-off the Inclusion & Diversity Strategy (ID Strategy) of the European Commission, it is also an opportunity for incluD-ed to network with the EC, National Agencies and Inclusion & Diversity Experts from all over Europe.
The ID Strategy launch event will be opened by Antonio Silva Mendes, Director of Youth and Sport unit of the DG Education and Culture of European Commission. Tony Geuden from SALTO Inclusion will then present “The story of the Inclusion and Diversity Strategy” before the Mapping Study of Inclusion Barriers “Mapping of barriers to social inclusion for young people in vulnerable situations”, developed by the EU-CoE Youth Partnership, will be discussed and good practices shared. The 1st Steering Group on Inclusion & Diversity will take place in parallel and provide an opportunity to make sure that inclusion and diversity will happen in Europe.
Annett Räbel from the incluD-ed Network Secretariat will represent the European Network on Inclusive Education and Disability at the ID Strategy launch.
Furthermore, incluD-ed will participate in the High Level Debate and Youth Awards taking place on 6 May In the frame of the European Youth Week where young people from all EU member states will meet in Brussels to discuss ideas to improve young people's participation, inclusion, employability etc. They will present their recommendations and have a High Level Debate with European policy makers (Commission, Parliamentarians, etc). This debate will be followed by the Youth Award ceremony, rewarding a number of Erasmus+ youth projects that made a difference for young people's participation in society.
