International Conference on Engineering Design 2015 (ICED 2015)
Mon, 27/07/2015 - Thu, 30/07/2015
The International Conference on Engineering Design 2015 (ICED 2015) will take place in July 27–30, 2015 on the Bovisa campus at the Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy.
ICED conferences are forums where the design community comes together to share knowledge, ideas and information. The conference series is the Design Society’s “flagship event”, occurring every two years and providing the most important meeting in design for researchers, designers and engineers, scientists and practitioners to stay abreast of changes in the field. The “E” in “ICED” indicates the engineering roots of the conference series. However, in more than 30 years ICED has gained a considerably broader scope, now providing a platform for design research and practice in all its forms – engineering, software, architectural, industrial, media design, representing the broadness of design in contemporary society.
The very first ICED Conference was held in Rome, in 1981. It is with great pleasure that we invite colleagues and friends active in the fields of design research, education and practice, to come to Milan for the 20th edition of this leading conference. Through years, ICED conference has developed and implemented rigorous quality assurance of conference contributions. ICED proceedings are recognized by leading indexing bodies and papers are available on the Design Society web site.
The ICED conference series is a unique discussion forum on design research, education and practice. At ICED 15 we look forward to a broad exchange of experiences and ideas from participants such as:
- - Academics and researchers working in the field of design science;
- - Educators in both technical and non-technical disciplines who are interested in design;
- - Researchers and practitioners working on multidisciplinary aspects of design;
- - Design, engineering and technical professionals and managers;
- - Product development professionals and managers;
- - R&D executives working with engineering design and product development strategies and plans;
- - National and regional development agencies, governmental bodies and research/industry policy organizations.
The Design Society is an international non-governmental, non-profit making organisation whose members share a common interest in design. It strives to contribute to a broad and established understanding of all aspects of development and design, and to promote the use of results and knowledge for the good of humanity.
