Autism Network Scotland connects and communicates with those interested in the field of ASD. Autism Network Scotland is a signpost for autism professionals and practitioners, people with autism, their families and carers toward examples of good practice, resources and useful information.
Autism Network Scotland is also widely recognised as a hub of direction to services for people affected by ASD and as a means of providing information, sharing advice and emotional support. It is seen to be unique and at the leading edge of inter-professional development in this field in Europe.
Público objetivo
- > To be a hub of impartial and reliable information about autism services across Scotland
- > To facilitate a range of practitioner networks across Scotland to support knowledge exchange and promote awareness of autism
- > To identify gaps in service delivery and information to people with autism and their families and carers
- > To signpost professionals, individuals on the autism spectrum and their families and carers to the range of services available at both a local and national level
- > To provide a platform to discuss current research and share good practice in the field of autism
- > To develop networking opportunities of individuals on the autism spectrum and their families and carers
- > To support better communication between people with autism and local and central government
Actividades
Autism Network Scotland staff are members of the Scottish Strategy for Autism Sub-Groups and support the Strategy by:
- > Facilitating cross-collaborative working
- > Contributing to policy direction
- > Raising awareness of quality of life for people with autism
- > Disseminating key information about diagnosis and intervention
- > Highlighting training needs and current research in the field of autism
- > Promoting best value.
Autism Network Scotland also hosts a range of Virtual Networks, which:
- > Encourage communication and raise awareness about autism across Scotland
- > Offer a secure and structured environment for solution focused collaboration
- > Bring together a wide range of practitioners, including those working in education, health care, social services across Scotland and the wider autism community
- > Are hosted online within our website and are complemented by opportunities for people to meet face to face.
