Views of the European Network on Inclusive Education & Disability, incluD-ed, on EDF’s proposal of a European Mobility Card

The incluD-ed network, the European Network on Inclusive Education & Disability, shares in this document its reflections in regards to the European Disability Forum’s (EDF) proposal to introduce a European Mobility Card.

In the position paper, the incluD-ed network:

  • - welcomes the creation of a project working group discussing practical details of a EU Mobility Card.
  • - regrets that the right to ‘Freedom of Movement’ has still not been fully achieved for people with disabilities
  • - calls on the European Commission, the European Parliament and EU MS
    • - to make a timely introduction of an EU Mobility Card
    • - to foster equal opportunities for people with disabilities via an EU Mobility Card
  • - believes that a EU Mobility Card will help to realise EU2020 goals
  • - states that there are no legal barriers towards adopting an EU Mobility Card
  • - underlines the need to cope  with the practical challenges of an EU Mobility Card
  • - asks the new European Commission and European Parliament to put forward a proposal on a EU Mobility Card
