Summary
The program "Partners in Education" is run as part of the Human Capital Programme. Hence, three groups of students were created which consisted partly of integrated classes with special educational needs: a student with cerebral palsy coupled to the motor disabilities and poor eyesight moving only in a wheelchair; a student with physical disabilities; students with impaired hearing: with poor hearing and deaf; a visually impaired student. The groups worked by different paths which met the needs of students and were aimed at the development of key competencies. Remedial classes and a school scientific circle were conducted. After each semester a Science Festival was organized. Moreover, as part of the program a number of trips (called academic camps) were organized. The goal of them was to take part in university lectures. The additional classes and after-school meetings at school were systematically held and included such subjects as Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and IT.
Project object:
1. Developing key competencies in secondary school learners: entrepreneurship, initiative, scientific-technical skills, IT skills, maths skills and cooperation.
2. Equalizing and compensatory character of classes for students with learning difficulties
3. Developing interest in mathematic and natural school subjects
Further objectives:
- To raise the quality of education.
- To modernise the content and methods of teaching.
- To qualise educational opportunities.
- To develop interest and passion in gifted learners.
Methodology
The classes were conducted by seven teachers of our school and had the form of workshop classes. 38 students participated. Participants attended lectures, trips and science camps; they also took part in lectures, workshop classes and presentations conducted by University of Silesia academics on the premises of our school.

Participants learnt new technologies, acquired valuable experiences. For project implementation the school obtained modern equipment: an interactive whiteboard with an interactive communication set, an overhead projector, a laptop with software, as well as materials and products necessary to carry out experiments on Physics and Biology lessons.

Evaluation
The project brought numerous advantages, learners acquired new competencies which they make use of during lessons and examinations. All students participating in the project not only passed matura exam, but also achieved good and very good results.
